Pre-ground coffee starts losing its flavor within minutes. We use the Baratza Encore — the standard "first real grinder" recommendation across the coffee world. A decent burr grinder is the single biggest jump in cup quality you can make, more than the beans themselves.
Pouring matters more than you'd think.
A gooseneck kettle gives you a slow, steady pour instead of a splash — which means the grounds soak evenly instead of some parts over-brewing and others under. Cheap fix, real difference.
Simple, cheap, and it just works.
We use the HARIO V60 — one of the most trusted names in pour-over. Cheap, simple, no machine or pods required, and it makes a genuinely clean cup. This is what half of us use every morning before the coffee's even fully brewed for the office.
